Keith from project runway season 5 with his episode 3 dress

fendi and chanel fall 2008 dresses

Keith was dissed by the Project Runway designers but I think the likes of Fendi and Chanel were liking what they were watching.  The trend of dresses for the fall lines are swatch happy! The Fendi pedal trimmed dress $3500

Peruvians and Forum Snowboards!?

Forum Snowboards Brand Symbol vs Saga Falabella lima department store brand symbol

The last thing on anyone’s mind cruising around Lima is snow, let alone Forum Snowboards which, FYI,  was purchased by Burton Snowboards years back. Looking up at a billboard with the Forum “F” was quite a surprise. I wonder if Jake Burton is aware of the Saga Falabella department store rocking the same symbol as one of their monopolized snowboard companies.

5 Finger Fun!

Posted by admin in Cool Today Gone Tomorrow

vibram fivefingers sandals

Check these crazy sandals?shoes?2nd skins? from Vibram. They’re called the FiveFingers sandals and they act like a second skin to offer gecko-like grip over a variety of terrain. It protects bare feet from rocks, gravel, and sharp objects. And it promotes a natural walking motion, reducing impact on your knees, hips, and lower back. These are crazy looking. I wonder if they give you like Spider Man type powers with the gecko grip. That’d be worth the $70 bucks.

Driving Flipper Wild

High Tide Heels

These High Tide Heels are so DOPE! These are the hottest things to hit Raging Waters in decades. You can go from swimming with dolphins or searching for pirate treasure to pole dancing! Love ‘em! These elusive High Tide Heels were seen in the store front window of a UK boutique but Australian designer Lisa Carney was the first to play with the idea and sent them down the runway in 2002 at the Mercedes Australian Fashion week. In Spring of 2007, Jean Paul Gaultier had sent the high heeled flippers down the runway for his fashion line. There is a lot of hype on getting a pair of these but impossible to find. Happy Hunting!

Cashew Bad

AW Archport sandals

Cashew is perfect and always right, like yourself, so when cashew received an email from Matt Potts, President of ArchPort Shoes, regarding miss lead information on his sandals in an earlier post, cashew would like to correct it. Whoa, that sentence takes a lot of breath. Here is an advertisement for the AW Sandal from ArchPort in 2005, predating the Reef “Stash” sandal. Thanks ArchPort for looking out.

Pet Fashion Week New York

Pet Fashion Week NYC 2006

For Real! Pet Fashion Week New York starts August 17th. A trade show of pet fashions. This is some of the craziest shit I’ve ever seen. Coutoure dog runway shows? These pooches have better wardrobes than most of us and that’s just wrong. Exhibitors include fashion, jewelry and accessories, collars and leashes, toys, foods and treats, bedding, fragrances, grooming products, health products and specialty items. But this show isn’t all about excessive pet trinkets, it also raises awareness as well as funds for NYC’s homeless and forgotten animals. The trade show was inaugurated last August of 2006 and was a big event with over 120 vendors and about 1500 buyers from around the world attending.

Flop into Fitness

Posted by admin in Cool Today Gone Tomorrow

fit flop sandal

Have you heard of these? The FitFlop? They’re all the rage in California; to get those lazy fatties off the couch and out of their SUV’s. Apparently, the multi-density midsole of the FitFlop, activates muscles midstep to help tone your thighs, your calves and your glutes. They also claim to be biomechanically engineered to absorb shock, lessen joint strain, and recreate the gait of barefoot walking. They were only offered in the UK but just recently they’ve been made available through Bath and Body works online. You have to test your curiosity at $45 bucks a pop.
